Life has changed dramatically since Jesus went to the cross. This particularly applies to our righteousness. What was true under the law may no longer be true under grace; God now sees us as righteous not based on what we do, but according to our faith in Jesus. Under the old covenant, God judged sinful man according to his deeds, because of Adam’s sin. Under grace, God now sees the believer as perfect and holy, regardless of his flaws and shortcomings, because Jesus took all our sins and paid for them with His blood. Doing the right thing is still important under grace; however, to do right, we must first believe right. Believing in God’s love for us elevates our lives to a whole new level.
