There is no such thing as a perfect life. As Christians we cannot expect to live free of trouble, tribulation or suffering; however, we must understand that these things mature us spiritually. Faith can give us the strength to make it through a bad situation, but relying on our own faith keeps us in self-effort. In the Old Testament the saints relied on their faith and had good results; thankfully, God’s grace has given us something better—the faith of Jesus Christ. Our faith is imperfect and lacking in many ways; Jesus’ faith has already been tested and proven to be perfect and complete. God uses adversity and difficulties to put our faith on trial until we acknowledge that we can do nothing without Him. Believing in His faith, not in ours, gives us peace.
