We have all been created in God’s image. However, we are not our physical bodies, but divine spirits. Knowing our true identity is critical to us as believers; believing in and depending on Jesus makes us God’s children, which moves us from the natural to the supernatural realm. This means we are no longer His servants, but His sons and daughters. Unlike worldly relationships, the family ties we have with God are by choice, not by chance. Choosing to let the Spirit of God lead us gives us the right and the privilege to be called His children. Understanding the difference between being a servant and being a son empowers us to walk in the Father’s love and authority, and allows us to inherit all the blessings He has promised His children.
