Prayer is extremely important in the life of a Christian. Not only is it how we communicate with God, but it also provides an opportunity to commune with Him. When we pray, we are giving God consent to intervene in our lives and bring to pass what has already been done for us. Our prayers give us tremendous power, but only if we pray according to the finished works of Jesus. Prayer should be motivated by love, not by selfish motives. It does us no good if we do not connect with God. Understanding that genuine prayer is two-way communication between us and God, not simply something we do to perform for others, gives us real results.
