One of the greatest threats to a successful Christian life is the temptation to become complacent. Complacency is a deadly enemy to our spiritual growth; it causes us to live off our past victories, and prevents us from moving toward greater things God has in store for us. With this is mind, we must be willing to let go of our past, regardless of the wonderful things that may have happened, and reach toward our future. There is nothing wrong with appreciating the blessings God has given us, as long as we continue growing and improving. Continuing in our forward progress, and avoiding self-satisfaction, keeps us content. This is possible when we make Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. In the restless, discontented world we live in, the only way to find contentment is by yielding to Him.
