On our journey toward a deeper level of spiritual maturity, intimacy with God is a key component. One of the best ways to do that is to spend time praying in tongues; this allows the Holy Spirit to get involved in the things that concern us. This nurtures and strengthens our relationship with Him. Christ is the benchmark for maturity; our goal as Christians should be to mature by becoming more and more like Him. A sign of increasing spiritual maturity is a willingness to let go of the past and move forward; Paul is one example of this. Another sign is a willingness to reach out in love to help another believer who is struggling, with the guidance and direction of the Holy Spirit. When we learn how to yield to Him, the process of maturing will progress unhindered.
