Most people do not understand how to pray. Prayer is not forced into a particular time slot or made into a dramatic display, but communing with God and fellowshipping with Him in the midst of our daily lives. Neither should prayer involve begging and pleading for God to do something for us; He is happy to give us what we ask for in the same way a father gives his children what they request. Spending time with God shapes our motives so that when we pray, we ask for things that please Him instead of ourselves. Asking according to His will dramatically increases the chances of us receiving what we ask for. Because of what Jesus Christ did and our belief in it, our minds have been freed to pray confidently and in faith. Knowing the truth about prayer gives us great power.
