Prayer the way God defines it is completely different than its religious definition. It is not begging God to do something He has already done, but about agreeing with Him about what He said in His Word. When we pray, we give God consent to get involved in our lives. Similar to obtaining a permit when building a structure in the natural realm, prayer is our heavenly permit that builds us up and strengthens us in the spiritual realm. It involves constantly communing with God in a two-way dialogue to build a personal relationship with Him. Unlike Old-Testament prayer, New-Testament prayer is based in the finished works of Jesus and consists heavily of thanking and praising Him for what He did. Deliverance, healing, prosperity, and everything else we need is finished; receiving them in faith brings us powerful results.
