Satan, who has been cast out of heaven, works hard to accuse us of all our past sins. His agenda is to use fear against us as believers and cause us to doubt our salvation. He wants us to forget about God’s love and faithfulness. The spiritual battle we are in is a fight over whether we focus on the devil and his lies and accusations, or on God and the truth of our permanent redemption. We get the upper hand when we maintain biblically correct thinking. Jesus has given us His authority over the devil and his influence; we must be ready to stand on that authority when the inevitable attacks come. Focusing on God and his love for us strengthens us and keeps us battle-ready.
