Jesus Christ gave us the perfect example of what it means to serve others. Although He was God in human form, Jesus came to earth and chose to be a humble servant. He taught His followers to lead lives of unselfish service, and expects believers to do the same. Servanthood is not the path most people would choose in order to be successful; however, the decision to be a servant brings blessings from God. To genuinely serve others requires that we have the same attitude as Christ, who always put others first. This involves rejecting pride and instead embracing humility, regardless of our status in life. When we guard against impure, selfish motives, we position ourselves for powerful service for the kingdom of God.
