We are living in a time of hopelessness; people have seen such tragedy and devastation around them that they may have lost hope in the church, and even in God. However, not only does God love us and want us to be saved, but He also wants to be in relationship with us. Salvation has been made available to us; believing this gives us an opportunity to begin again. The grace that God offers releases us from our hopeless situations and reveals His acceptance of us. The blood that Jesus shed on the cross defeated sin and all of its associated bondage to addictions and bad habits. It also erased gender-based inequalities between men and women. God is no longer angry with us; the knowledge that now we can all directly approach Him without fear of punishment encourages us.
