To be godly is to put God first and regard Him above everything else. The base of a godly lifestyle is to voluntarily live a life that is totally dependent on God; as believers, we live in a world that is the exact opposite of this. Grace is inextricably linked to Jesus Christ because He is grace, in human form. It is therefore impossible to live godly without Jesus. Depending on God, and not on our self-efforts, is how we glorify Him. However, this involves depending not only on God’s power but also on His wisdom, which is far greater than ours. God sees us as just when we learn to live in complete dependence on Him.
