Strong friendships are the prerequisite for good marriages. However, cultivating good relationships with others is impossible without having a good relationship with God and His Word, first; this is a basic concept we need to understand. To be a good friend to someone else, we must base our friendships on the grace of Jesus Christ, not on the Law of Moses. Genuine friendships have love as the foundation, with plenty of loyalty to take the relationship through difficulties. Being a faithful and reliable friend goes a long way in establishing a strong relationship with another person. Godly friends are a blessing; letting God teach us the lessons we must learn through spiritually mature relationships with them makes us powerful witnesses of His love.
