A lifestyle pleasing to God involves total reliance on Him every day. When we live our daily lives in complete dependence on God, with no self-effort involved, we give glory to Him simply by living that way. Abraham, who had a child at age one hundred, is a strong example of the kind of faith God is looking for. When He made Abraham a promise, Abraham was completely incapable of bringing it to pass; nevertheless, God caused it to happen at the appointed time. We can have full confidence and trust that our heavenly Father will take care of us, without fail; this is how we demonstrate godly humility. This reliance on Him comes from developing a personal relationship with Him. We can confidently lean on God because He will never let us down.
