As believers, we have been given authority over every evil thing, including the devil. We live in a world in which most people do not believe in Satan, and therefore are unable to recognize his deeds. Because of this, he is able to inflict pain and suffering, destroy people’s lives, and even kill them. Some of the ways he does this include causing physical illness and disease as well as bringing emotional and spiritual turmoil. However, we have been authorized to cast out unclean spirits. These spirits inhabit people who do not know Jesus; therefore, the most effective way to prevent them from returning after they have been cast out is to fill the empty void in the person with the Holy Spirit. The enemy has no chance of re-occupying someone who has God, Himself, living in them.
